Boston, MA The Greater Boston Plumbing Contractors Association, a trade organization that represents more than 65 of the largest union plumbing companies in the region, has donated $35,000 to area charities as part of its annual holiday giving program.

Greater Boston PCA officials gave three checks for $5,000 each to the West End House, which provides education and enrichment services for city youth; Christmas in the City, which hosts a holiday party and provides support to homeless families and children in Boston; and the Salvation Army’s Kroc Center, a recreational center for Boston’s youth. Also receiving $5,000 checks were Community Servings, a nonprofit in Jamaica Plain that provides healthy meals for families struggling with food insecurity; Rosie’s Place, which provides housing and support for homeless women and domestic violence victims; Father Bill’s, which operates homeless shelters in Quincy and Brockton; and the Boston Healthcare for the Homeless Program.

“All of these incredible nonprofits offer vital services to some of our most vulnerable community members,” said Greater Boston PCA executive director Andrew DeAngelo. “Having access to housing, offering services for the young people of our city, providing quality meals and health care are all things that everyone deserves, and our industry takes these issues seriously. We appreciate all that these organizations do every day and are proud to be able to support each of them, especially during the holiday season.”

Checks were formally presented to West End House, Christmas in the City and the Kroc Center at Greater Boston PCA’s annual holiday gathering at the Boston Athenaeum.
