The Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA) continues its collaboration with the Department of Skill Development (DSD) to organise the second year of vocational training in plumbing for the public under the program titled “Surveying, Installing, and Repairing Plumbing Pipes in Residences and Office Buildings.” This initiative aims to develop plumbing skills, create employment opportunities, and enhance family income for the Thai populace.

Mr. Chakapong Kamchan, Deputy Governor (Operation 2) and Acting Governor of PWA, revealed, “This marks the second year of PWA’s partnership with the Department of Skill Development (DSD) in organising a plumbing career training project. The objective is to provide citizens with the opportunity to acquire professional plumbing skills, enabling them to build careers and increase their family income. The training program encompasses theoretical and practical aspects.”

The free training program seeks to develop plumbing skills, generate employment prospects, and boost family incomes. It covers fundamental knowledge related to water production, usage, safety, materials, and tools pertinent to plumbing work in residential and office buildings. Conducted by experienced professionals, the 3-day training program concludes with a certification.

The training will be conducted in ten provinces, including Chonburi, Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi, Suratthani, Phatthalung, Mahasarakham, Bueng Kan, Buriram, Nan, and Uthaithani.

Applications are open for training in each province, with a maximum of 20 participants per session. The eligibility criteria include:

  1. Thai nationality and age 18 or above.
  2. At least a lower secondary education level or equivalent.
  3. Good physical condition that does not impede training.
  4. Basic knowledge and prior experience in plumbing are advantageous.

Mr. Chakapong emphasised, “PWA believes that the plumbing vocational training project can yield sustainable benefits for communities, society, the economy, and overall quality of life.”
