LOW MOOR, Va. (WSET) — Alleghany Highlands Public Schools announced on Tuesday that some schools will be closed on Wednesday due to a plumbing issue.
Due to this plumbing issue, Alleghany High School, Covington Middle School, Jackson River Technical Center, and Clifton Academy will be closed on Wednesday, March 13, according to the district.
The district said the plumbing issue unexpectedly occurred at Alleghany High School on Tuesday afternoon. AHPS maintenance workers promptly began working to address the issue.

Covington Middle School, Jackson River Technical Center, and Clifton Academy will also be closed on Wednesday to avoid confusion over an overlap of students and transportation. All elementary schools will be open, the district said.
Decisions about athletics and other activities at the high school will be made around mid-day Wednesday, according to the district.
