TULSA, Oklahoma — It can be inconvenient to have a tree on your roof while waiting for a tree removal service to remove it, but experts say it could result in bruising your foot, losing the entire roof or even lose your life if you do it yourself.
FOX23 spoke to Top Notch Tree Service owner Brad Pippin about the importance of waiting for help from a tree removal service.
“One wrong cut could cause you more damage or take your life. “That’s just the reality,” said Pippin. “We’re out here every day taking every precaution not to cause further harm, but more importantly, I want my boys to go home at the end of the day and there’s no one there to hurt.”
For smaller jobs, like removing green debris from your lawn, most people think he can handle the smaller jobs or wait for city teams to remove them.
“We just won’t have time,” says Pippin. “We’re tearing trees off roofs, out of houses and out of buildings for at least the next month.”
He says there are also financial concerns about trying to fell a tree off your home on your own.
“I’m sure if your insurance company finds out you did it and you do more damage then there could be a problem claiming that insurance.”
As for the predicted rain, Pippin says his teams will be able to handle it unless lightning starts.
He’s hoping it’s really quick so they don’t fall even further behind.
