EVG reader Bruce Tantum shared the above photo on Wednesday morning… as workers cut down a tree that had managed to survive more than three years of sporadic construction at the office building, located on the NE corner of Third Avenue and St. Mark’s Place. I’m not sure what kind of tree that was (on the NYC tree map this was a Callery pear) but it looked very healthy to us as we could see last year…just had the misfortune to to stand behind the construction plywood…
…the rendering for the building even shows a similar looking tree in St. Mark’s Square…
