MONTCALM COUNTY, MI — A 32-year-old Howard City man was killed late Tuesday, April 4, when his pickup truck crashed into a tree, sheriff’s deputies said.

The victim’s name was not released.

The accident was reported around 11:30 p.m. on Country Farm Road near Huck Drive in the township of Sidney, Montcalm County.

The investigation revealed that the man was driving a 1997 Ford Ranger pickup truck west on County Farm Road when he began to veer off the right-hand side of the road. Tire marks showed the pickup truck traveled about 200 yards before crashing into a tree, sheriff’s deputies said.
