Kansas City is committed to planting more trees to increase the City’s tree canopy through measures such as:
The Kansas City Council approved the FY 2023-2024 budget, which included sustainability efforts:
- $1 million to add 10,000 trees to the City’s tree canopy over three years.
This citywide effort includes support from Parks and Recreation and Neighborhood Services Departments.
This initiative is the first time tree planting will occur on private property with city-funded support.
