Vote for the Storm Works Roofing High School Boys Athlete of the Week

Bridgewater-Raynham’s Richie Thayer has been voted the Storm Works Roofing & Restoration High School Boys Athlete of the Week.

The senior golfer received over 3,400 votes (46.7%) to earn the honor. In a 133-90 win over Brockton, Thayer carded a 4-under par 32.

Caleb Green, Sr., Cardinal Spellman: Green scored two of Spellman’s goals in a 4-3 loss to Bishop Stang.

George Baroud, Fr., West Bridgewater: Baroud notched his first career hat trick in a 4-0 win over Carver.

Joao Faria, Sr., Rockland: Faria had a hat trick in a 5-0 win Middleboro and tacked on two goals in a 4-0 win over Sandwich.

Moses Carvalho, Fr., Southeastern: Carvalho tallied a hat trick in a 7-0 win over South Shore Charter.

Iury Cassemiro, Abington: Cassemiro scored four goals in a win over Holbrook.

Nathan Askjaer + Cian Casey, Cohasset: In a 6-4 win over Abington, Askjaer scored a hat trick. Casey had a hat trick of his own in a 6-0 win over Martha’s Vineyard.

Sam Alexander + Kaik Reis, Srs., Framingham: The Flyers’ goalkeeper Alexander posted his fourth straight shutout in a 1-0 win at Lexington. That followed a 4-0 win over Walpole and a 0-0 tie with Natick. Reis, a striker, scored the lone goal with 16 minutes to play in the win over Lexington, and in the win over Walpole, he scored two goals.

Christian Chiplock, Sr., Medway: Chiplock scored twice as the Mustangs (now 3-2-2) blanked Millis, 3-0. Chiplock also scored in a 1-1 tie with Medfield.

Matthew Drons, Jr., + Ryan Sauter, Sr., Blackstone Valley Tech: Sauter had a hat trick and Drons had a goal and an assist as the visiting Beavers (6-0) topped Northbridge, 5-2. In a 6-0 win over Assabet, Sauter and Drons (assist) each scored twice. And in a 5-0 victory over Main South earlier in the week, Drons had four assists.

Jack Ferrecchia, Sr., Westborough: Ferrecchia scored the winning goal with four minutes to play as the Rangers (2-0-2) edged Wachusett, 2-1.

Nick Silva, Sr., AMSA: Silva scored two goals as the Eagles defeated Keefe Tech, 3-1.

Hudson Terando, Sr., Hopedale: The captain Terando scored both goals for host Hopedale in a 2-2 tie with unbeaten Grafton.

Carson Erick, Sr., Hingham: Erick cards a 2-under 35 in a 247-254 win over Hingham.

The 7th annual Cape Cod National Golf Club High School Invitational was held Sunday afternoon. There were four individual competitors and 11 top high school golf teams in Eastern Massachusetts.

Connor Griffin, Jr., Blackstone Valley Tech: Griffin shot a 2-under 33 at Southborough Golf Club as the Beavers (4-2) defeated AMSA, 156-159.

Chase Kelly, Jr., Nipmuc: Kelly was the match medalist, posting a 39 in a 182-202 win over Millbury.

Yash Pawnarker, Jr., Ashland: Pawnarker shot a 2-over 35 as the Clockers won a quad-match vs. Holliston, Bellingham and Millis.

Parker Winn, Jr., Hopkinton: The captain Winn carded a 38 as the Hillers defeated Dedham, 257-283.

CROSS COUNTRY

Brendan Thomas, Sr., Oliver Ames: In a 15-49 win over Foxboro, Thomas set a new course record (16:28).

Aaron Corlette, Sr., Brockton: Corlette took first in a 15-48 win over Durfee.

Jason Huff, Sr., Franklin: Huff ran a 17:38.1 on the 2.9-mile course as the Panthers swept Taunton, 15-50.

Andrew Klinedinst, Jr., Hudson: Klinedinst won in 17:13 as the Hawks defeated Lunenburg, 25-31.
