NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A FRAUDULENT ID

Elizabeth D. Rupero-Agduelo, of Buffalo Grove, is accused of having an expired registration, no valid driver’s license, two counts of possession of a fraudulent ID (fake U.S. resident card and fake social security card), operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 8:28 a.m. Oct. 28, at Dundee Road and Bach Street. A court date of Nov. 15 was assigned.

THEFT/WARRANT SERVICE

Charles Bellavia, of Addison, is accused of felony theft by deception and felony home repair fraud, and a warrant was issued for him at 11:19 p.m. Oct. 28, in the 1800 block of South Lane. In May, a complainant told police that they had provided Bellavia, who owns a roofing company, over $23,000 to fix their damaged roof. The complainant said no workers ever showed, and Bellavia refused to communicate with them. After an extensive investigation, the arrest warrant was issued. A court date had not yet been set at the time of the report.

RETAIL THEFT

Artur Bojko, of Chicago, is accused of retail theft, and was arrested at 1:19 p.m. Oct. 31, in the 800 block of Willow Road. The staff at a grocery store noticed a subject enter the store that they were familiar with. They knew the subject, identified as Bojko, had allegedly stolen items from them in the past. They watched Bojko fill up a shopping cart with items, then walk out of the store without paying. A court date of Dec. 4 was assigned.

VIOLATION OF AN ORDER OF PROTECTION

Sharon Marie Sullivan, of Wilmette, had an active warrant for violation of an order of protection, and turned herself into the Northbrook Police Department at 6:36 a.m. Nov. 2. A court date had not yet been set at the time of the report.

INCIDENTS

BURGLARY

A family member of a resident in the 2100 block of Mayapple Lane reported at 2:24 p.m. Oct. 27, someone had entered their mother’s condo while she was gone and stole three pieces of jewelry. The door to the condo wasn’t forced open, so the family doesn’t know how the subject gained entry.

THEFT

A citizen reported at 12:15 p.m. Oct. 28, someone had removed her black Prada wallet from her purse while she was shopping at a grocery store in the 700 block of Skokie Boulevard. The wallet contained $100 and credit cards.

VANDALISM

While on patrol at 4:13 p.m. Oct. 28, police found graffiti on a Northbrook Park District gazebo in the 1800 block of Walters Avenue. The graffiti included various names and phrases carved into the side of the gazebo.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

Police said they noticed a white Jeep Cherokee driving through a hotel parking lot at Dundee Road and Skokie Boulevard at 2:06 a.m. Oct. 31. After checking the license plate, it was determined the vehicle had been involved in several catalytic converter thefts in other towns. The white Jeep then suddenly drove towards one of the squad cars, as if it was going to strike it, but swerved at the last second. Multiple officers tried to stop the vehicle, but it fled. The vehicle tried to strike another squad car as it fled. The vehicle fled into Wheeling and was last seen on Dundee Road.
