Once a year the company gives away a free roof to a veteran, service member or a public safety individual in need.

This year’s recipient is McNeil “Mac” Barr, a retired service member from the Marine Corps.

Barr said he felt bad because he wasn’t able to replace the roof himself, so he’s blessed to have Monarch step in.

I had the worst-looking roof in the neighborhood. I’m sure when people drive by, they say, ‘Look at that roof. Brings the neighborhood down.’ Now I’m going to have the best-looking roof in the neighborhood, I’m sure. I feel really good about that. I really do.

The company said they’re working to make the program a monthly occasion so they can donate a roof to a vet every month.
