Bay Roofing is the 2023 Chamber of Commerce “Business of the Year.”
The announcement was made at last night’s sold-out Bell Evening of Excellence Business Awards held at The Davedi Club.
Bay Roofing was founded in 1984 and has a staff of 95.
New ownership took over in 2015. The company serves customers in North Bay and Sudbury.
“We offer eavestroughing, soffit/fascia, siding, and window cladding, plus exterior insulation in addition to roofing services for residential and commercial customers,” says the website.
Over 200 people were in attendance at the event.
The winners per category are:
New Business of the Year (Small) – Hello Darlene
New Business of the Year (Large) – Cascades Casino North Bay
Not-for-Profit of the Year – Les Compagnons des francs loisirs
Young Professional of the Year – Tealia Carriere,Tickled Teals Entertainement
Small Business of the Year (1-5 employees) – Le Voyageur Inn
Small Business of the Year (6-15 employees) – Jim’s Locksmithing
Business of the Year (16+ employees) – Bay Roofing and Exteriors Ltd.
“The Evening of Excellence is a special event as we celebrate the businesses and individuals who have demonstrated leadership, community involvement and success” said Donna Backer, President of the North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce. “Shining a spotlight on the nominees, winners and all businesses in our district is well deserved and appreciated.”
The annual Betty Alcorn Memorial Award for Director of the Year went to Carrie Girard “who has exemplified dedication and diligence to the board by taking the lead on governance, ” according to a release.
“Carrie has been instrumental in assisting to modernize our governance and by-laws, has forward-thinking perspective to grow our Chamber to help our members, and we look forward to her future contributions,” said Backer.
