IRVINE, CA, July 22, 2023 – (PR.com) – In the spirit of “Paying Forward,” Antis Roofing & Waterproofing is donating its David Chow Humanitarian Award cash prize to a popular annual tradition in the Central Orange Coast Boys & Girls Clubs (the Club).

The $2,500 check that will be awarded to Antis in 2022 will be presented to the club as part of its back-to-school backpacking campaign. This year the promotion will take place on Wednesday, August 3rd.

“Our campaign is bringing around a thousand new backpacks and accessories to children who need them most, and this contribution is helping make that possible,” said David Blair, the club’s director of philanthropy and corporate partnerships. “We are so grateful to Charles Antis for his continued dedication to our cause and this honor is just another tribute to that dedication.”

During the event, California Love Drop will serve its locally renowned lunch of Wahoo’s Fish Tacos along with Yogurtland treats and beverages. Wahoo’s Fish Tacos co-founder Wing Lam will be cooking on site and rising star Madison Taylor Baez is expected to make an appearance. Baez is a 12-year-old singer and actress who was a Golden Buzzer winner on America’s Got Talent last year.

About 250 children are expected to receive backpacks with essential school supplies. The deliveries include new books donated by Lisa Wiehebrink, author of two children’s books and founder of Tails that Teach.

“The youth receiving the Backpack Drive materials were identified as children who were likely to need used materials or leftover materials from the previous school year,” Blair notes. “This[event]not only gives our kids the tools they need in school, but also the confidence that comes with great quality and a little bit of compassion.”

The Back-to-School Backpack Drive event will be held at the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Ana, 950 W. Highland, Santa Ana. Lunch and check handover will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m
