I.C. Thomasson Associates, Inc. (ICT) is seeking a Senior Plumbing Designer to join a multidiscipline design team to work in our Nashville, TN office. The candidate for this position will assist in the Plumbingdesign associated with the construction of our commercial and other building projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget. Initial design responsibilities will include implementing plumbing design utilizing Revit and AutoCAD platforms. Duties will also includefire pump sizing, hydraulic calculations, domestic booster pump sizing, gas piping sizing, water heater sizing, verifying existing site conditions, performing field surveys, and reviewing equipment shop drawings. Core Competencies:
Managing staff in the production of plumbing designs
Follows established design procedures
Accepts direction and supervision and works well with others.
Within their technical specialty, is able to design and layout engineering drawings.
Using knowledge of the kinds of projects the firm designs is able to specify portions of the engineering system from catalogs.
May assist in some studies, doing design or drawing as required.
Is a competent and fast draftsman.
May be an expert in certain design areas, such as the routing of piping within a project, or the calculation of electrical loads, or the design of recovery systems in a waste treatment plant, but this expertise is of a practical rather than a theoretical nature.
Qualifications:
Understanding and experience using REVIT to produce building construction documents
Knowledge of plumbing and mechanical engineering principles in the field of building construction.
Fire Protection experience preferred, but not required.
Capable of increasing technical competency with experience and work ethic.
Experience in the design of commercial, educational, and manufacturing building design.
Ability to effectively communicate with architects, owners, and contractors.
Knowledge of building codes including ASHRAE, NFPA 99, and Tennessee Building Codes.
Ability to work well independently and as part of a strong team.
Excellent organization and time management skills.
