LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — On Thursday, a deserving family got a special gift just in time for winter. Browns Heating Air & Plumbing gave away a heat pump system for a third year!
There were more than 150 nominations this year for families in need, who filled out applications and shared their stories of hardship.
By Thursday’s giveaway, the board had narrowed it down to 4 finalists.

After a close vote from the board all the way down to you in the community, this year’s system went to the Gunter family
“It means a lot to us we appreciate everyone who shared their love and sent their votes in we really appreciate it,” said Joshua Gunter, who won the system.
“It’s very heartbreaking, it’s very hard,” said Brandon Brown. “You hear these stories and you just can’t believe people could go this long without heat or air but they’re making ends meet, they’re trying their best.”
All four finalists also got other gifts. Brandon Brown says his small business just wants to give back to a community he says gives so much to him.
