Hernandez Plumbing’s entry was recognized as the best overall float in the City of Las Cruces Parks and Recreation Department’s competition for participants in the 2023 Electric Light Parade.
In the Commercial Float category, The Salvation Army of Las Cruces took first place, Francy Emlade (Food Truck) took second, and HD2 Studio took third.
In the non-commercial category, Mayfield Cheer won first place, Friends of the Community second, and Mesilla Valley Aerostat Association third place.
This year’s motto for the parade was “Red, White and BOOM!” More than 60 participants took part in the parade, the city said.
