Council to fast-track Plumbing and Drainage Applications

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) will soon make changes to certain plumbing and drainage applications to speed up the process.

Bill Cahill, portfolio manager on the TRC planning and development committee, said the new process will begin on July 1.

“The Council will elect to expedite permitting work on certain plumbing and drainage applications contemplated under current legislation,” said Cr Cahill.

“By doing this, we’re trying to streamline applications and make the whole process easier for our residents.”

“Assumed fast-track plumbing work is for a new Class 1a building (a single detached dwelling on a single lot with mains drainage).”

Applicants going through this process must provide:

  1. Complete and sign Form 1 of the Work Permit Application
  2. Applicable Fee
  3. Building plan
  4. Site plan showing all boundaries and street frontages. The location of the obligatory rainwater tank must be indicated
  5. surveys
  6. All plans must show the correct street address or plot/floor plan and be drawn to scale
  7. A copy of the Soil Classification Report (per Section 5 on Form 1)
  8. A copy of the draft articulation (as per Section 5 on Form 1)

You also have the option to fill out the Responsible Person Notification form.

To become a registered user, go to the Council’s new user registration page or visit the online customer service portal, navigate to the top right of the screen and click the “Register” link.
