City Plumbing Spares Apprentice Leo Brigham has been awarded the prestigious 2023 City & Guilds Livery Company Prize by the Worshipful Company of Builders’ Merchants.

Brigham began his apprenticeship at City Plumbing in 2021 and was the first student to graduate in the very first cohort for the Parts Specialist apprenticeship program.

Upon completing his Level 2 qualification, Brigham dropped just three points across his entire portfolio and rating, earning him a well-deserved honor. He continues to be praised by local managers and the Regional Director for his hard work, dedication and work ethic. He is already contributing to the success of the branch by building strong relationships across the branch network and with customers.

Branch Manager Shane Begbie said: “Leo has been a fantastic worker from day one. I knew he would be a shining star in the industry as his dedication and drive exceeded his years. It was a privilege to see his development and I’m proud to have him on my team.”

Brigham said, “It is a real honor to have been selected by WCoBM to win their 2023 award. Any recognition of your work is humbling, but I am very proud to be recognized by such a distinguished organization and to have attended such an impressive ceremony.

“It has encouraged me that the benefits of apprenticeships continue to be viewed more positively and I hope that as an industry and nation we continue on this path. I am incredibly grateful to City Plumbing Supplies and LEAP Apprenticeships. Your support has been invaluable in my two years with the company so far and I look forward to the future.”

Livery Company Awards recognize outstanding achievement by students or tutors who have earned or taught City & Guilds qualifications in the Livery Company profession and are awarded by the City & Guilds of London Institute.
