Actor William H. Macy is currently stuck in the weeds — or rather, the trees — following a lawsuit for damages filed against him by a neighbor late last month.

Pierce Brown, who owns property next door to Macy’s in Los Angeles, alleges in his lawsuit that workers on Macy’s behalf removed or otherwise severely damaged several pine trees on Brown’s property in 2021 without his permission or knowledge while Brown was in the vacation was .

In his lawsuit, Brown alleges that when Macy returned from his trip and discovered the tremendous changes being made to his garden, he acknowledged that his workers had trespassed on Brown’s land without permission and destroyed its trees and vegetation.

“Macy’s conduct … caused Brown a loss of property value, a loss of use and enjoyment of his property, a loss of privacy, an increase in noise, and emotional distress, irritation, anger and discomfort,” the lawsuit states.

To restore his slope and repair the damage to the root systems allegedly destroyed by Macy’s workers, Brown is seeking $500,000 in damages and $100,000 in general damages. Brown’s attorneys and Macy could not be reached by The Daily Beast for comment.

Macy’s wife, Felicity Huffman, was sentenced to 14 days in prison in 2019 after pleading guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and mail fraud with honest services as part of the “Operation Varsity Blues” college admissions scandal.
