WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – If you frequently drive down Market Street, you may experience delays next weekend.
One block of Market Street will be closed March 18 to allow a City of Wilmington contractor to cut down or remove trees that pose a hazard to motorists and pedestrians.
The city is coordinating work with the NC Department of Transportation, which maintains Market Street, also known as US 17 Business.
The city has established a detour around the Market Street closure at the 2000 block: North 23rd Street, Princess Place Drive, and North 16th/17th Street, which are two-way street pairs.
The closure is expected to last from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m
Motorists are advised to seek an alternative route to avoid delays.
