Hosted by CEO Whidden Carmen, this competition was organized to raise awareness of professional tree care and its importance to the safety and health of communities.
The competition takes place in April to recognize local arborists who have dedicated their lives to the art of tree care. Participants compete for awards and prizes by completing complex technical climbing challenges that will test participants’ skills and knowledge. The event is open to all certified arborists in the Long Beach area and is expected to attract many experienced climbers from across Southern California.

All competitors must follow strict safety protocols during competition, including wearing seat belts and helmets. In addition, they must demonstrate their knowledge of proper tree care and safety practices during the competition. The competition will be judged by a panel of industry experts and will feature various challenging obstacles. Participants will also be tested on their basic knowledge of tree biology and identification.
In addition to the competition, training seminars will be conducted throughout the day by certified arborists aiming to educate the public on the importance of proper tree care and maintenance. There will also be food vendors, music and children’s activities.
