Emergency services are reporting multiple road closures and washouts across the state. Monday’s flash flood warning brought heavy rain, rising floods, power outages and damage to roads. If you’re out and about, be prepared for extra time on roads that risk closures across the state. A Conway resident shared images of a neighbor’s driveway being washed away after a small stream flooded. Along Route 113 in Standish, trees block a section of the road while crews assess the damage. The water on this lane is beginning to recede. Crews are working to put the dirt back on the pavement and assess the full damage. There is currently no detour for this lane. In the south of Paris, a culvert can be seen completely exposed, the road falls out of the water. The flash flood warning expires at 11am Monday but a vigil is expected to last through Tuesday. If you encounter flood water while driving, report the lane and turn around. Don’t drive over flood water.
