Police say motorists should expect “long delays” after a tree fell in Omaha Monday afternoon.

Police responded to reports of the incident on Leigh Rd around 2.30pm.

No injuries have been reported in connection with this incident, but the road is expected to be closed for some time, a spokesman said.

A section of Leigh Rd between Ashton Rd and Omaha Valley Rd west of Leigh is closed, according to Auckland Transport.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area or delay driving if possible.

Emergency services were notified of the burial just before 11:30 a.m., a police spokesman said.

Earlier Monday, motorists in Auckland were warned to expect delays after diesel leaked on the southern motorway near the Market Rd exit on Monday midday.
