DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A driver was killed Tuesday afternoon after his vehicle collided first with a utility pole and then a tree in Jefferson Township.
Preliminary investigations by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department indicate that a westbound Dodge 1500 pickup truck crossed the centerline of Dayton Liberty Road shortly after 2:30 p.m. and crossed into the east lanes

It is believed the truck then went off the road and crashed into an AES Ohio utility pole before crashing into a tree.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by local firefighters.
The Sheriff’s Office’s Traffic Department is still investigating the incident.
