STREATOR — Officials with the Streator Township High School Board are reconsidering the type of roof for their sports complex. Tuesday evening, Superintendent

Scott Cameron informed the board members that the bids for metal roofing were over budget. He says their initial budget estimate for the project was between $85,000 and $95,000, but offers came in that ranged from $136 to $224,000. It was recommended that the project be re-tendered with a 30-year shingle roofing instead. The project, which is expected to begin next summer, will be funded in part by a 50/50 school upkeep grant.
