BISMARCK, ND (KFYR) – Heavy snowfall has caused problems at Simle Middle School. Just before spring break, staff noticed that some parts of the auditorium’s ceiling were out of place.
The roof was damaged and leaking. It was reinforced five or six years ago.
The auditorium will remain closed until repairs are made.
“Are we absolutely missing the room? I think that was the timing that was really unfortunate, it was a week before our musical. So we had to move our musical to Bismarck High School, where they were good neighbors and welcomed us,” Principal Russ Riehl said.
The entire roof is replaced. The construction work will take place in the summer.
