Geoff Rose has lived his life in two countries, England and the United States. At the moment he and his company Old Glory Roofing are firmly based in York. The company is located in Suite C1 in Olde York Plaza.
Born in the UK to an American mother and English father, he lived with his father in England after his parents divorced. That was until 1998 when he visited Nebraska to see his mother, Bridget, and stepfather, Mike Yoder, who lived in Henderson.
Deciding to stay and live with his mother, Rose attended Heartland High School and graduated in 1998. He was working for Time Warner Cable in Lincoln while visiting friends in Kansas, where he met his wife, Jennifer. The couple were married in 2004 and had two children.
The family vacationed in England in 2008, where… “My wife loved it there,” Rose said. The family finally made the decision to move to England in 2012. “It was a tough decision,” Rose added. “I had reached a position at Time Warner where my career was in a great place. We moved and I worked there for Virgin Media, which was also a cable company.”

The impetus to return to the States came with Mike Yoder’s cancer diagnosis and eventual death in 2022. Rose returned for the funeral and during that trip he and his siblings discussed their mother’s situation and the fact that none of them were in the area lived.
Rose’s brother Jeremiah had been running his Old Glory Roofing Company in LeMars, Iowa for eight to 10 years, and the two discussed the possibility of Rose opening a second location somewhere in that part of Nebraska. Rose agreed to think about it and returned to England.
That was the same day that last June’s massive hailstorm hit York, making the decision to open in York an easy one. “I literally came home, slept for three hours, and got back on a plane to the States,” Rose said.
“We started small and wanted to build that base,” he added. “We were the new company in town, we did a lot of publicity and we want people to know we’re not going anywhere. We want to be part of the community and help support what is happening in the city.”
“At Old Glory Roofing, we believe in the principles of hard work, integrity and dedication,” said Rose. “Whether you need help with roof repairs or replacements, our team will provide you with the best service on the market.”
“We also put everyone in at least a Class 3 clapboard,” he added. “That should help customers from an underwriting perspective as it will help mitigate some claims and many insurance companies will also discount this shingle height.”
Old Glory Roofing in York has also expanded to include siding, guttering, windows and painting. “We want to be a one-stop shop for our customers,” said Rose.

Rose has moved back to the States with his family and their children Kaelyn, who is a junior, and Jack, who is in 7th grade, attend Heartland Community Schools just like their father. Rose also mentioned that living close to his mother, who continues to live in Henderson, was important to the family.
“The year is going well,” said Rose. “We just want to build on last year. Like I said, we’re not going anywhere.”
