FORT MYERS, Fla., May 29, 2023 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Kelly Roofing, a platinum Owens Corning roofing company, is giving back to U.S. military veterans through a partnership with Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay/Rebuilding Together Central Florida. As part of the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project, United States Army veteran Benjamin Hill received a brand new roof on March 17. The Owens Corning Foundation donated the roofing materials and Kelly Roofing donated the labor.

The Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project is a nationwide effort to show gratitude and honor to the veterans who have served the country and the families who support them. Since the program began in 2016, more than 400 military members have received new roofs.

“We’re thrilled to be able to give back to these people who have served our country so well,” said Ken Kelly, President of Kelly Roofing. “It is up to us to serve them.”

Hill was chosen for his outstanding military service, hometown and the severity of the damage.

“I think it’s wonderful what these groups are doing to help those in need. I’m grateful to be part of a community that cares,” says Hill.

On rebuilding Tampa Bay and Central Florida together:

RTTB’s mission is to “repair homes, revitalize communities and rebuild lives.” They accomplish this by providing community members with necessary home repairs, housing, education, and other forms of support at no cost, thereby bringing those homes not only into a livable condition, but into a safe and healthy condition where families can thrive can.

RTTB runs projects like replacing leaky roofs in bedrooms and ducts that make asthma symptoms worse in young children. They add grab bars for elderly residents and build new homes for people and families who might never have had a home of their own. After Hurricane Ian, RTTB was named the lead affiliate for all statewide response and recovery efforts by the national RT office and expanded its coverage to include the worst-hit Hurricane Ian communities in Southwest and Central Florida.
