Farha Roofing gets a new headquarters and, somewhat unexpectedly, a sixth office across the country.
In July, the company moves into the 21,000-square-foot former National Guard armory in Edgemoor, north of Central.
“We’re remodeling it,” said owner and president Ben Farha. “It’s a pretty big project.”
The company is currently based in smaller premises near Harry and Hillside.
Farha said poor parking and lack of space were the reason for the move.
“We’re growing,” he said.
The building covers an area of almost three hectares.
“We have plenty of space for gear and if we ever need to store items,” Farha said.
He said everything can now be in one place and there is also easy access for inbound and outbound trucks.
There’s a recreation area in the middle of the building where Farha is building some pickleball courts.

“We turned the safe into a conference room,” he said. “It’s a complete makeover.”
He also ensures that the 1956 building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places for tax credits.
In addition to the new headquarters, Farha Roofing now has a sixth office, this time in Orlando.
A former employee lives there, and if it weren’t for him, he probably wouldn’t have opened an office there, Farha said. However, he said hurricanes make the state a good place for roofers.
“It’s obviously a big attraction. We know the work is there. There are always storms down there.”
In addition to Orlando and Wichita, the company also has offices in Denver, Durango and Southeast Colorado and Kansas City, Missouri.
Farha said he’s open to expanding into more cities, but he’s not actively looking.
“We like to let it come naturally.”
